the axolotl’s garden
The axolotl’s garden is our little piece of the world, of nature. It is the place where we can be and share who we are and develop it.
This little forest has empowered us to strive for our dreams through collaborative projects whilst nurturing it. It’s fate is in our hands and in transforming it we transform ourselves.
We decided to make it a productive and educational space in which we can make use of our time and creativity to promote the things that seem most relevant to us.
Through various eco-techniques we have been turning this space into an edible forest in which at least one hundred species of plants and herbs that grow wildly or by cultivation can now be found, among them many endemic and that in wildlife have disappeared over time.
Edible forests are a regenerative farming technique in which it is sought to make the most of the synergies that may exist between different plant species growing side by side. It is precisely this diversity that endows ecosystems with their resilience; in general, a pest that affects a certain species will rarely have a major impact on another neighboring species.
Our hope is that every person who leaves this space carries with them a new perception of the importance of regeneration in our society.
We are all one, and only together will we reach the objetives we seek.
We firmly believe that our socio-environmental goals require a knowledge based society, and therefore, we make public all the knowledge we generate. Week after week we receive groups in The Axolotl’s Garden to share our production processes, from the technical aspects to the fundamental values that link us with our land and the methods of growing our ingredients. We organize workshops exclusively aimed at training attendees in regenerative cultivation farming and self-sufficiency.
